12 Noon: Mike V presents our annual airing of Arlo Guthrie’s “Alice’s Restaurant”!
2 p.m. – 4 p.m.: World Café with Raina Douris
Robert Plant and Alison Krauss had a hugely successful collaboration almost a decade and a half ago with the album Raising Sand. They talk about their friendship and what it was like to return to the studio with producer T-Bone Burnett in this World Cafe encore, originally heard in 2021.
4 p.m. – 8 p.m.: WXPN Afternoons with Dan Reed
4 p.m.: Dan spins the The Band’s classic live album The Last Waltz in its entirety, followed by an extended edition of Highs In The 70s!
8 p.m. – 11 p.m.: WXPN evening mix with Rahman Wortman
11 p.m. – 1 a.m.: Echoes with John Diliberto
Tun in for An Echoes Acoustic Thanksgiving featuring a live performance by guitarist Vin Downes, a disciple of Windham Hill guitarist Will Ackerman, who plays finger-style melodies that will sooth your soul.
XPN’s Block Rockin’ Weekend
As you recover from Thanksgiving and your Black Friday spree, keep the fun going with WXPN’s first-ever Block Rockin’ Weekend! Beginning at 4 p.m. on Friday the 25th and running through 10 p.m. on Sunday the 27th, we’ll stretch out our shows block-style — three songs in a row by all your favorite XPN artists, across specialty shows like Land of the Lost, Sleepy Hollow, The Blues Show, Stars End, The Folk Show and more.
