15-20 hours / week (UNPAID)

WXPN’s Marketing Department is looking for a Street Team Coordinator Intern to assist in promoting the station to members, listeners and potential audiences. The intern will assist with coordinating our on-site presence at XPN Welcomes concerts and other highly trafficked events, throughout our coverage area. They will also assist in marketing our signature annual concert event, the XPoNential Music Festival through coordinated efforts with volunteers and will have the opportunity to assist with audience engagement at the festival, which is held the last weekend of July.

Duties
The intern will assist the Community Outreach Coordinator and work closely with our Street Team volunteers to coordinate volunteer presence at an average of 50 events per month. Effective and thorough communication and detailed tracking and organization skills will be essential to this role. They will be responsible for keeping Welcomes marketing materials stocked and well organized. The intern will also help in providing timely updates to our Street Team group, using both email and Facebook. If they have some evening availability, the internship may also include attendance at XPN events to help assess outreach strategies, along with XPN’s on-site presence.

Qualifications
  • Strong organization and communication skills, especially through email.
  • Computer skills, including familiarity with Google Docs
  • Friendly, team-player attitude
  • Interest and some knowledge of the local music scene is preferred
  • Majoring in Marketing, Music Industry, Communications, Media, Entertainment & Arts Management or related field
