PHILADELPHIA, PA – January 4, 2016 – WXPN, the nationally-recognized leader in Triple A music and non-commercial radio service of the University of Pennsylvania, named Dylan LeBlanc as its January Artist To Watch. WXPN Music Director and Host Dan Reed presented the first of the month’s on-air segments today, January 4, in the 4 p.m. hour.

Dylan LeBlanc is a singer-songwriter whose soulful, bluesy voice and guitar style resonates with the sights and sounds of his musical youth. He learned a lot of his craft watching his father work at FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals. His father, James LeBlanc, is a singer, songwriter, and guitarist whose songs have been recorded by Rascal Flatts, Kenny Chesney, Gary Allan, Jason Aldean, Martina McBride, Travis Tritt and many others. Dylan LeBlanc released his debut album, Paupers Field, in 2010 when he was 19, and his second album, Cast the Same Old Shadow, was released in 2012. Following his second release LeBlanc played with the likes of Bruce Springsteen, The Drive By Truckers, First Aid Kit, and Alabama Shakes. LeBlanc’s third album, Cautionary Tale, was produced by Alabama Shakes’ Ben Tanner and Paul White (formerly of The Civil Wars) and will release on January 15. XPN Welcomes Dylan Leblanc to World Cafe Live on Tuesday, February 2.

“There’s some deep soul and bluesy emotion in LeBlanc’s Americana infused songs,” said Bruce Warren, Assistant General Manager of Programming. “He sounds wise beyond his actual age, and brings to the table excellent songwriting that’s unique enough to distinguish him from so many Americana- influenced artists of our modern time working on the same turf."
