Nential Music Festival dates are July 27, 28 & 29

PHILADELPHIA (JANUARY 8, 2018): Another stellar night of live music will take place on Friday, July 27 as WXPN, the non-commercial, member-supported radio station of the University of Pennsylvania, has again teamed up with promoter Live Nation to present performances at BB&T Pavilion on the Camden, New Jersey waterfront as part of WXPN’s annual XPoNential Music Festival presented by Subaru. Performing on Friday July 27, 2018 at the BB&T Pavilion will be David Byrne and Sylvan Esso.

David Byrne (who will perform with a band) and Sylvan Esso join the previously-announced festival lineup at BB&T Pavilion for Saturday, July 28 featuring The War On Drugs, Sturgill Simpson and Preservation Hall Jazz Band.

David Byrne is founding member, principal songwriter, and lead singer and guitarist of the pioneering rock band Talking Heads, with whom he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He is also an Oscar, GRAMMY and Golden Globe winner. He is expected to release an anticipated new album early this year. The Durham, North Carolina-based electronic pop duo Sylvan Esso is singer-lyricist Amelia Meath and producer Nick Sanborn, whose 2017 sophomore album What Now is nominated for a GRAMMY award in the “Best Dance/Electronic Album” category.

The 2018 XPoNential Music Festival will take place Friday, July 27 through Sunday, July 29 at BB&T Pavilion and the adjacent Wiggins Waterfront Park. Reserved seat tickets for this Friday, July 27 concert will go on sale to the general public this Friday, January 12 at 10 AM through, the BB&T Pavilion box office, Ticketmaster outlets or by phone at 800-745-3000.

The XPoNential Music Festival presented by Subaru is WXPN’s signature annual concert event that draws audiences from throughout the Greater Philadelphia area, Mid-Atlantic region, and Northeastern US. Now in its 14th year at Wiggins Park and 7th year at the adjacent BB&T Pavilion, WXPN produces the XPoNential Music Festival in partnership with the Camden County Board of Freeholders. The festival features the expertly curated mix of established and new artists enjoyed by WXPN members and listeners. The preferred summer music event is known for convenient access via public transportation, natural amphitheaters that produce great sound, plenty of activities for kids, extensive food, drink and vendor selections, and festival seating and riverfront promenades that offer spectacular views of the Delaware River and Philadelphia skyline.
