Free At Noon w/ Gov’t Mule

Rough, raw, and fearless, Gov’t Mule definitely deserve their bluesy fame. Gotta agree with critics on this one–listening to them is like experiencing a Jimi Hendrix improv, injected with the classic sounds of Cream. How wrong can you go with a band that is frequently described as “wildly creative” and “fearsomely talented”?
Their latest album, three years in the making (and definitely worth the wait) is called “By A Thread”, and today at the World Cafe, they played from this new rollicking collection as well as some of their older, not-any-less-bold material.
Definitely the right way to spend a lunch break. You can listen to the live concert achive at NPR.org/music.
