Wilmington, Delaware is close enough to Philly that we’ll call The Sky Drops a sort of Philly band. The band include Rob Montejo (guitar & vocals) and Monika Bullette (drums and vocals) & they can generally be categorized as melodic noise-popsters; if you’re a fan of some of those classic Creation Bands likely you will dig what the Sky Drops are brewing up. Waves of blissfully grungy guitars, driving rhythms and serious melodies cascade throughout the entire collection of songs on their recent album. Song after song they deliver some pretty soaring stuff. The band released Bourgeois Beat last summer and they continue to garner some pretty great reviews. Here’s a tune from the album, followed by a pretty cool vid.
