J. Tillman’s 7th(!) album is called Singing Ax and was recorded by Steve Albini in three days. It’s a sparse, slowcore affair however as with any music it ultimately comes down to the song and the voice. In Tillman’s case, both are strong and convincing and always haunting. Tillman, the drummer for the Fleet Foxes, is releasing the record on Western Vinyl on September 14th.
