U2 1982 + LiveAid
by Fran Daly, Pennsauken, NJ
U2’s first concert in Philly at the Tower Theater. I got tix the day before the show. It wasn’t sold out. It was the 1st leg of the War tour. Incredible. The next time they came, tix sold out in 15 mins., and I wasn’t able to get a ticket. My 62 yr. old mom, now deceased, stood in line for me when Live Aid tix went on sale; I was at work. It was my generation’s Woodstock with a purpose… to stop famine in Africa. A day to remember. To this day, Bono and Bob Geldof should have a Nobel Peace Prize.

HI, I also saw the U2 concert at the tower. It’s still one of my favortie shows. I remember Bono climbing up onto the speakers. Also got to see Live Aid.
