Bob Dylan at the Academy of Music circa 1969

I was not a great fan of Dylan when I was dating someone who adored him. My friend got tickets to see him perform at the Academy of Music. That was a pivotal time in Dylan’s career when he added electric guitar to his music. Many people were upset that he “sold out” to his adoring fans. It was at that concert that I was awakened to his music. I remember him singing “Like a Rolling Stone” using his electric guitar and I was completely in love with him. Some people booed and some walked out. Others stood up and cheered. I can’t even begin to describe that moment for me. I know that from that very song, and that incredible sound, I was a Bob Dylan fan.
