398: Jim Morrison exposes himself in Miami
During a 1967 performance in New Haven, Connecticut, Jim Morrison was arrested for attempting to incite a riot when he told his audience that a policeman had sprayed him and a woman with mace backstage before the concert. He was later acquitted. But the crowning event took place in March of 1969 in Miami, Florida—Morrison’s home state. That’s when the rock star was arrested for allegedly exposing himself during a concert appearance. Fellow Door’s member Ray Manzarek asserted Morrison never showed the crowd his private parts. He said Morrison had recently seen an experimental, in-your-face theatre group called the living theatre. That evening Morrison had decided to create his own version of the Living theatre.
