Slowcore veterans Low announced the release of a new album today, their twelfth to date. Titled Double Negative, the album is due out September 14th via Sub Pop. Along with the album announcement, the Duluth, MN-based band released the opening three tracks from the album, “Quorum”, “Dancing and Blood” and “Fly,” along with an accompanying suite of music videos.

Album opener “Quorum” starts off the album with a glitchy, fuzzed out intro, featuring near indecipherable lyrics care of frontman Alan Sparhawk. The opening track seamlessly transitions into second track, “Dancing and Blood.” The black and white music video to “Dancing and Blood” follows an older man dancing around the dance floor of a dive bar. Fading in and out of focus, the slowed down video is accompanied by equally slowed vocals, a common theme throughout the three new songs.

The album was recorded in Eau Claire, WI, at Justin Vernon’s April Base Studios alongside producer B.J. Burton, who the band previously worked with on 2015’s Ones and Sixes.

Low stops by Callowhill’s Underground Arts on November 10th. Tickets for the show go on sale this Friday, June 15th at 9 a.m. through Ticketfly. Head over to XPN’s concert calendar to find more info and purchase tickets for the band’s fall stop in Philly.
