30 Days of Philly Arts: Doylestown Arts Festival is on today and tomorrow - Day 7
The Doylestown Arts Festival is one of Bucks County's largest annual events. Now in its 22nd year the festival is free (with free parking and shuttle service!) and presents a juried array of over 150 exhibitors in downtown Doylestown today and tomorrow.
The weekend also offers recreational bike riding and races, ending with the 10th annual Thompson Criterium of Doylestown, a professional bicycle race that encircles the Arts Festival with high speed, action cycling on Sunday.
The majority of exhibitors at the Doylestown Arts Festival are from the area and offer painting and photography, as well as original designs in handcrafted furniture, glass, textiles, pottery, metal and lots and lots of jewelry. There are handbags and candles and soaps, homemade fudge and dog treats, and dried gourds and art made from butterflies. You can even get decorated with henna while your kids have their faces painted. There's a complete list of exhibitors here.
There's also music on three stages with solo acts and groups in rock, pop, folk, big band and kids music. The bill includes guitar great Tim Farrell, the 9-piece New York Funk Exchange, cabaret singer Karen Gross, musicians of the Bucks County Folk Song Society and puppeteers Tuckers Tales.
