Frank Turner

Don't let his punk demeanor fool you. English folk/punk singer-songwriter Frank Turner attended Eton on a scholarship, and when his hardcore band Million Dead disbanded in 2005, he took his solo career on a more acoustic route - with an edge. He's already released 5 studio albums, 4 EPs, and 2 rarities compilation albums. His most recent album, Tape Deck Heart, came out in April and features the lively single "Four Simple Words." It was the follow up to Turner's 2011 album, "England Keep My Bones," which sold over 100,000 copies worldwide. Tape Deck Heart was produced by Rich Costey (who has worked with Muse, Weezer, Rage Against the Machine and Interpol), and has launched a worldwide tour - China, New Zealand, Europe, the U.K, and the U.S, including a stop in Bonnaroo this June (that's how you know you've made it).

"Tape Deck Heart" features the talents Turner's band, The Sleeping Souls: Ben Lloyd (guitar, mandolin, vocals) Tarrant Anderson (bass guitar), Matt Nasir (piano, organ, keyboards, string arrangements, vocals), and Nigel Powell (percussion, mandolin, vocals).

You can catch Turner on Free at Noon, and also at Lancaster's Chameleon Club on June 1, or at the sold out show on June 7 at Underground Arts in Philly.
