Laura Veirs and Dessa

Laura Veirs is a singer-songwriter raised in Colorado, now living with her husband and two boys in Portland, Oregon. Her first album was self titled and released in 1999 featuring just her and a guitar. Her ninth and latest album Warp and Weft was produced by her husband Tucker Martine, who also joins in playing a variety of instruments. It was recorded in a basement studio and features guests such as Neko Case, and some members of The Decemberists. The album made it's debut at number 10 on the US Folk Albums charts.
