This week’s Free at Noon will feature indie folk favorites Lord Huron. Hailing from Los Angeles, the band’s debut Lonesome Dreams gained praise and recognition from the likes of NPR and Stereogum. The band’s deep rooted country/folk sounds, along with their name, reflect Lake Huron that spans the Michigan and Ontario shores. Lord Huron founder Ben Schneider grew up visiting the lake and credits it for inspiring the group's musical sound. Their latest single is the lighthearted "Fool For Love,” which will appear on their new Strange Trails. The band kicks off a five-month tour starting April 22nd, stopping to play a sold-out show Philadelphia's Union Transfer on the first of May. Be sure not to miss them earlier that day as they hit the World Cafe Live stage for Free at noon. Join us by RSVP-ing for the performance or tune into the broadcast at 88.5 FM or XPN.org.
