Scissor SistersThis Friday at noon, don't miss out on a free show with one of the best-known acts from the New York City club scene, Scissor Sisters. Their sound is drawn from disco, glam rock, and of coursethe alternative night life of the Big Apple--they've been growing a fan base since 2004 with their eponymous, sensual debut, and their latest is just as provocative.

Formed in 2001 by two friends from Kentucky, Jake Shears and Scott "Babydaddy" Hoffman, Scissor Sisters truly came into form with the addition of Ana "Ana Matronic" Lynch, a musician who ran a weekly cabaret event. The three started off as the Fibrillating Scissor Sisters, ' slowly cultivated a reputation for their unabashed beats and content, and soon were signed and releasing. In the few years since, they've added members, collaborated with the likes of Kylie Minogue and Elton John, contributed to numerous soundtracks, and released three full-lengths.

The latest from Scissor Sisters is called "Night Work", and is full of the beats and anthems that the group has come to be known for. Lively and extremely enjoyable, this release is just more evidence the Bono knew what he was talking about when in 2004 he described them as "the best pop group in the world at the moment".

This Live Friday is free, and sure to be full of excitement. Mark your calendars, and bring your friends! What better way to start the weekend?

Scissor Sisters play the Electric Factory Friday night at 8:30 with Sammy Jo!
