Join us for a Free At Noon Doubleheader with Jimmy Podrasky and Trampled By Turtles at a live midday concert on Friday.

Jimmer Podrasky was a founding member of The Rave-Ups, an 80s Pittsburgh / Los Angeles power-pop outfit whose hit song "Positively Lost Me" was featured in Pretty In Pink. Though the band experienced wide-spread devotion and released several critically acclaimed albums, Podrasky hung up his guitar in 1990 to raise a son and disappeared into civilian life for over two decades. He wasn't idle during that hiatus, though, and 2014 saw Podrasky's reemergence in the form of a debut solo effort called The Would-Be Plans, which reached the ears of long-time Rave-Up fans as well as new-found Jimmer fans. He headlines World Cafe Live
in Philadelphia on Sunday the 20th of July; see him early at this week’s doubleheader Free at Noon.

XPoNential Music Festival alums Trampled by Turtles have been riding a long wave of success after the 2012 release of their sixth studio LP Stars and Satellites. With the record giving the band its debut appearance on late night network TV, the Duluth, MN outfit found itself at the top of several Billboard Charts once again (2010's Palomino sat in the top 10 for 52 straight weeks). Stars and Satellites found a different route to Trampled by Turtles' signature bluegrass / folk from Palomino, though, opting for an overall slow-burn instead of the rowdy punk-grass of Palomino hits like "Wait So Long." This week's Free at Noon comes ahead of the band's seventh studio LP Wild Animal, set for release on July 15th. Trampled by Turtles will headline Union Transfer
on September 10th with XPN Fest artist Hurray for the Riff Raff; get a taste of the show at this week’s Free at Noon.
