Internship: Summer Music Festival

Festival Production Intern

WXPN (88.5 FM) is looking for a high-energy, detail-oriented intern to work directly with the Festival Producer in planning and executing the station’s signature event, the XPoNential Music Festival, which will take place from July 26-28, 2013 at Wiggins Park on the Camden Waterfront. Responsibilities include: coordinating logistics/travel/hospitality with approximately 35 bands; coordinating many of the event’s production details; securing the required paperwork for bands’ payments; and generally assisting with all aspects of producing a successful music festival.

Candidates must be self-starters; able to work independently; possess strong writing skills; able (and excited!) to organize and track a large and constantly shifting quantity of details; comfortable working with spreadsheets in Excel; and confident on the phone and over e-mail. Must also be able to work outdoors on your feet for long days in the summertime heat.

The internship will begin approximately late-May/early-June and conclude in early-August. Hours will start at approximately 15 – 20 hours per week, and throughout the internship will gradually increase to 25 – 30 hours per week. Must be available to work the entire festival from July 26-28, 2013 as well full-time work days during the week leading up to the festival weekend and few days afterwards.

The University of Pennsylvania is an EEO/Affirmative Action employer.
