PHILADELPHIA, PA – WXPN, the nationally-recognized leader in Triple A music and noncommercial radio service of the University of Pennsylvania, names The Slip as its December Artist To Watch. Host Michaela Majoun will present the first of the month’s on-air segments on Thursday morning November 30th in the 9 a.m. hour. Majoun will also present The Slip on the “My Morning Download” feature, which can be accessed at www.XPoNentialmusic.org.
Concert showcases the huge talent and big hearts of Philadelphia-based musicians who will take the stage at World Cafe Live with all proceeds donated to program that helps patients with the healing process through live bedside performances in area hospitals.

Fifteen Days Of Special Archival Interviews To Begin October 16
PHILADELPHIA, PA WORLD CAFE® the award-winning daily music program distributed by NPR and produced by WXPN, the public radio service of the University of Pennsylvania, will commemorate 15 years of guiding listeners on a journey of musical discovery by re-airing some of the show’s most compelling interviews. Host David Dye delved into the archives of more than 3,000 interviews to select just one from each of the 15 years the show has aired.

The countdown begins at 6:00 a.m. on October 9 and concludes with the number one artist being played around October 24.

PHILADELPHIA, PA - The annual Fall Arts Preview on WXPN kicks off on Monday, September 11 during the XPN Morning Show with Michaela Majoun, providing the first of the week’s daily look at regional arts and cultural “must-sees.” Throughout the week, the station will broadcast a total of five three-minute audio spotlights. Each broadcast will air in the 6:00 a.m., 8:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and 4:00 p.m. hours and will be posted on the Fall Arts Preview page at xpn.org along with a listing of other events in the region.

Philadelphia, PA – Starting at 8pm on August 30, Alternative Rock fans in Philadelphia will be able to listen to their favorite music on the radio when WXPN (88.5FM) begins airing Y-Rock On XPN three nights a week. The show, which is hosted by Jim McGuinn (former Program Director for WPLY-Y100), will be broadcast on 88.5 FM to listeners in the station’s Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware markets, as well as throughout the world via online streaming every Wednesday and Thursday from 8pm to 11pm and Fridays 7pm to 11pm.
