NON-COMMvention To Be Held May 28-30 At World Cafe Live Registration Open Now, Fees Kept at 2008’s Reduced Rates

PHILADELPHIA, PA., - WXPN, the nationally-recognized leader in Triple A (Album Adult Alternative) music and a non-commercial radio service of the University of Pennsylvania today announced that the NON-COMMvention will be held at WXPN and World Cafe Live, 3025 Walnut Street in Philadelphia, PA from May 28-30, 2009. Early Bird Registration for the conference is open now with special savings through April 30. Visit www.FMQB.com/TripleA for details.

Now in its ninth year, the NON-COMMvention is held each May and offers non-commercial, Triple A radio stations a three-day new music showcase featuring new and established artists, business topics such as programming best practices, marketing and fundraising.

“The registration fees have not changed from last year’s really low rates,” said Roger LaMay WXPN general manager. “We recognize the hardships that our colleagues may be are going through at this time so we’re determined to keep this the most affordable industry conference going. It’s definitely the most fun. We also believe that this event provides the information to make the Triple A format even more successful than it is now.”

NON-COMM was first established in 2001 by Gerry Weston, then head of public radio partnership in Louisville, Kentucky and Dan Reed, WXPN’s Music Director.

“If last year was any indication, NON-COMM is unquestionably the number one music event for Triple A Radio,” said Dan Reed. “And, we expect it to be better this year. In addition to covering business and programming best practices, all live performances will be at World Cafe Live, arguably one of the country’s best venues.”

In addition to radio staff, the 2009 NON-COMMvention is also open to Triple A record label staff and members of the media.

For more convention information, please visit fmqb.com/triplea.asp. Sponsorship opportunities are also available.
