Kids Corner Host Kathy O’Connell Wins Editorial Award from the Parenting Publications of America O’Connell Awarded Bronze Award for Music Reviews Column

Philadelphia, Pa. – March 9, 2011 – WXPN, the nationally recognized leader in Triple A (Adult Album Alternative) music and home of the Peabody award-winning Kids Corner radio show, today announced that Kids Corner host Kathy O’Connell won honors from the Parenting Publications of America (PPA) as part of their 2010 Editorial and Design Awards presented on March 5.

PPA recognized O’Connell for her kids’ music column that is published monthly in MetroKids. O’Connell received the Bronze Award in the Column: Reviews category.

"We are so pleased with this achievement," said WXPN General Manager Roger LaMay. "Kathy has been sharing the best kids’ music on the air on XPN for more than 20 years, and we’re thrilled that she has also been able to share great kids’ music with MetroKids readers."

PPA's Editorial and Design Awards Competition recognizes excellence in journalism, photography and design achieved by publishers, editors, writers and designers at member publications. A panel of 25 judges reviewed 915 entries from 75 publications to choose the winners in each category. All judges drew upon significant professional experience in selecting the 368 winners.

Headquartered in Los Angeles, PPA is a national nonprofit organization representing more than 116 parenting magazines and newspapers in the United States, Canada and Australia. For more information about PPA, visit www.parentingpublications.org.
