Sense of Place: The Bawdies are faithful craftsmen of the art of rock music

Rock and roll is many things. It’s a feeling, an energy, and an attitude. Rock and roll is also a craft, and The Bawdies have spent over two decades perfecting that craft.

Since 2004, the Japanese band has released nine albums full of retro-leaning rock and featuring nostalgic album art that wouldn’t look out of place next to the Beatles in a record store.

Coming up on this installment of Sense of Place: Japan, The Bawdies talk about how they discovered 60s rock music, why they love it, and how – even though they sing in English – they put their own Japanese twist on the genre.
