December 11, 2012 - A former member of the all-female rock trio The Bangles, Susanna Hoffs has been recently creating significant airwaves on the radio following the release of her third studio album Someday (Vanguard Records) this past July. An album that encapsulates the intersection of music with vivacious beauty, Someday is further grounding Hoff’s presence in the music industry. Inspired by her exposure to punk rock during her time at the University of California, Berkeley, Hoffs started her career in music with The Bangles.

For almost 30 years, Hoffs and her band mates provided avid audiences worldwide with bold yet empowering rock tunes. After the band’s breakup in the early 90’s, Hoffs decided to continue her career by flirting with the solo musical scene. Achieving moderate success in the UK and the US, her first two critically-acclaimed albums clearly displayed that Hoffs possesses beautiful gift with music.

Following her decision to take a solo path in her career, Hoffs’ musical style diverged and directed itself from punk-rock to catchy pure pop tunes. Her music was featured in numerous theatrical soundtracks, commercials and even video games. Adding actress on her resume, Hoffs would also land appearances in an array of films such as the exceedingly popular Austin Powers film series. Working with well-known producer Mitchell Froom and Nashville musician Andrew Brassell, Someday has been forecasted as a promising album that will respark Hoffs’ illustrious career.

Currently, on tour and promoting her latest album, there is no doubt that Hoffs will continue to sooth music lovers worldwide with her addictive honey-voice and captivating harmonious tunes. Listen to this session of World Cafe and hear Hoffs perform live.
