Foxygen On World Cafe The psychedelic pop duo plays songs from its new album, We Are the 21st Century Ambassadors of Peace & Magic, and talks with host David Dye about capturing its sound.
"Foxygen blend their love of classic rock and psychedelic music in to something fresh and new and very well crafted. They manage to spin the past into the future like magicians."

An indie rock duo hailing from Westlake Village, California, Foxygen is now based out of New York City. Inspired by 20th-century legends such as The Beatles, Bob Dylan, and The Clash they offer refreshing electronic sounds that flirt well with their powerful acoustic voices. The duo consists of Sam France on vocals and Jonathan Rado on guitar and keyboards. They released their full-length studio album "Take the Kids Off Broadway" in July 2012. Receiving wide-spread recognition from numerous blogs and music websites, they are significantly increasing their popularity in the underground music scene.

Following the success of their debut album, France and Rado immediately returned to the studio to record and finalize their second studio album. Released this week on Jagjaguwar, We Are The 21st Century Ambassadors of Peace & Magic clearly displays their passion for classic rock and psychedelic music.Recording in the legendary National Freedom studio, with music producer Richard Swift, the duo was able to finalize its musical masterpiece in just four weeks.

A true emerging duo, Foxygen has been selected as WXPN’s Artist To Watch for January and the band continues to receive positive press from CMJ and other influential music websites. Listen to this live session of Foxygen on World Cafe as the emerging duo continues to make waves in the music scene.
