Jamnation

Phish Performing LiveTune in to WXPN 88.5 each Monday evening at 8pm to hear Jamnation hosted by Matt Reilly. Jamnation is XPN's program dedicated to the broad variety of musical output often grouped under the "Jam Band" umbrella. Classics of the genre like the Allman Brothers and The Grateful Dead are given their due and the spotlight is also shone upon the new generation of groups such as Galactic, Medeski, Martin and Wood, Widespread Panic, moe, and many more.

Jamnation explores the ever-expanding galaxy of jam bands. Many Jam Bands new and old have made up an important part of XPN's daily programming, and based on our listener feedback, you want more!

Hot TunaJamnation was born from a dialogue between station and audience, and perhaps it is no coincidence that the music we feature on Jamnation is rooted in an important dialogue between artist and audience. Jamnation is sure to become an important part of your XPN listening experience. As always, please let us know what you'd like to hear on Jamnation.

Matt Reilly Came to Philadelphia from KGSR in Austin, Texas
If you've ever been to Austin, Texas, home to one of the great music festivals in the world, South By Southwest, you may have stumbled on to KGSR, one of the great radio stations bar none (except of course, WXPN). Matt Reilly relocated to Philly from KGSR.

Matt hosts Jamnation, the weekend Afternoon Music Mix - Saturdays from 2 to 6pm, and Sundays from 11am to 5pm. Plus, he occasionally fills-in during the days.

The Grateful Dead Hour
Every Monday at 9pm following Jamnation, David Gans hosts The Grateful Dead Hour, a program that XPN has delivered to you for many years. The Grateful Dead Hour serves an important role in preserving the musical legacy of the psychedelic era's most beloved ambassadors. Each week David presents a different live sampling from the vast Dead archives.
