Lower Dens

Lower Dens is a four-piece group from Baltimore fronted by Jana Hunter, an incredibly talented songwriter and musician who has spent some years performing and collaborating with many of the bigger names in the freak-folk and alt-folk scenes from Devandra Banhart to Deer Tick to Phosphorescent. The group just released their second album, Nootropics, this May to rave reviews. Their music has been described by Pitchfork Magazine as "richly detailed, dark, and ethereal - a feast for sound-first listeners drawn to expressive shifts in color and tone."
