One of our favorite reasons to cross county lines in the late summer is Open Sound Lansdowne, a free concert series that’s just a short jaunt west up Baltimore Avenue, bringing some of Philly’s finest DIY and indie scene players to DelCo.

Taking place every Thursday night in September, and curated by Michael Cantor of The Goodbye Party — along with co-organizers Ramsey Beyer, Melissa Rogel and Dave Rogel —  Open Sound Lansdowne ’22 kicks off on September 1st with a headlining show by Petal, with subsequent installments of the series featuring garage rock power trio Queen Rat on 9/8 and indie pop outfit 2nd Grade on 9/22, with stellar openers like the emotive dreamscapers Ther on 9/15 and the college rock throwbacks Path on 9/22.

The series wraps on on 10/2 when XPN fave rockers The Tisburys headline the Arts on The Avenue festival with Open Sound returnees Red Birds and the stellar singer-songwriter Reese Florence; check out the full calendar below.
