Philly Music Fest's Inside Hustle offers career support from leaders in the music industry - WXPN

Philly Music Fest announced the 2022 panel for Inside Hustle, the music industry info and networking event hosted in the Lounge at World Cafe Live. Experts in the music business from all sectors are scheduled to speak, including representatives from booking and promotional giants Live Nation and Bowery Presents, artist management firms, recording studios, and even local bands Low Cut Connie, Great Time, ill Fated Natives, and Mannequin Pussy.

Every year, in addition to a full weekend of local artist performances spread across some of the city’s finest independent stages, Philly Music Fest offers Inside Hustle as a free resource to anyone looking to take the next step in their music career. Guests including WXPN’s own Mike Vasilikos and John Vettese, have years of experience supporting bands at different stages in their career, and know what makes particular groups stand out — Vettese and Vasilikos will be taking questions about radio along with WMMR’s Sara Parker.

Philly Music Fest founder Greg Seltzer adds that Inside Hustle is a place for all music professionals, as well as musicians. “In order to grow a music industry in Philadelphia, we need to aggregate the disparate parts of the scene, facilitate collaboration, educate, and pave a path for non-musicians,” says Seltzer in a press statement. “We need to create a home in Philadelphia for managers, agents, promoters and publicists, rather than have our people leave for Los Angeles, New York and Nashville.”

Inside Hustle will take place on October 15th from noon to 3 p.m. in the Lounge at World Cafe Live. Admission is free, just register at
