Call it a modern rock outing of pavilion proportions; Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, the solo project of the Oasis songwriter, is going on a summer shed run this year with alternative icons Garbage. The tour features support from shimmering Toronto stars Metric, and comes through Philadelphia on Friday, July 14th.
Since forming High Flying Birds in 2011, Gallagher has release three albums with the project; their fourth, Council Skies, is due June 2nd on Gallagher’s label Sour Mash, and its second single “Easy Now” released a few weeks ago. Garbage’s seventh studio album No Gods No Masters came out in 2021 via Infectious Music and BMG, and Shirley Manson discussed the project with World Cafe’s Raina Douris that summer. For their part, Metric is eight albums deep, and released Formentera last summer.
Tickets for the show go on sale this Friday, February 17th at 10 a.m., and more information can be found at WXPN’s Concerts and Events page. Listen to music from each of the artists and check out the full run of the tour below.
