As apart of the “XPN Thru The Years” over the Memorial Day weekend, we’ll have an an abbreviated show (7PM-10PM). Each hour you’ll hear blues from three different years.
In the 7PM hour, it’s blues from 1965, including Muddy Waters, BuddyGuy, The Paul Butterfield Blues Band, J. B. Lenoir, MississippiFred McDowell, Son House, and The Rolling Stones. In the 8PM hour, it’s blues from 2021, with Bobby BlalHat, Maria Muldaur, Mr. Sipp, Buffalo Nichols, Lady A (Anita White), Eric Bibb, and more. And lastly in the 9PM hour, we’re taking it all the way back to 1928, for Bessie Smith, Blind Blake, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Lonnie Johnson, Leroy Carr, Ma Rainey, Tommy Johnson, and more.
