World Cafe Production

Hours: 10 - 20 /week
Available in-person only

This internship provides an understanding of the production process for a nationally syndicated public radio show and is an opportunity to learn the basic principles of recording and editing interviews and music for broadcast.

Duties:Burning and archiving CD/DVD/Blu-ray for the World Cafe archive library. Assisting Line-Producer with loading music and handling metadata for the national show. Assisting engineer with recording live performances, including load-in, setup, and breakdown of artists. Creating instrumental edits of songs. This internship provides an understanding of the production process for a nationally syndicated public radio show and is an opportunity to learn the basic principles of recording and editing interviews and music for broadcast.

Qualifications: Applicant must have rudimentary computer skills. Experience using Pro Tools or other digital audio workstation is preferred. Experience using Microsoft Excel is preferred. Applicant must be reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently. Ability to juggle multiple tasks and ability to work under deadline pressure is needed. A desire to explore a career in radio is a plus, as is any previous experience with recording or production equipment.
