UPDATE: Special note about COVID

To be eligible for In-Person internships, students must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, complete daily symptom checks, and wear masks.

Programming Internships

15 hours - 20 / week (3 days/wk. 6:30am-9:30am EST)
Available remote

This is an opportunity to research and write news stories for the XPN Morning Show. Position may include editing interviews into sound bites for newscasts depending on knowledge of digital audio editor.
Hours: 10 - 20 /week
Available in-person only

This internship provides an understanding of the production process for a nationally syndicated public radio show and is an opportunity to learn the basic principles of recording and editing interviews and music for broadcast.
Hours: 15 - 20 /week
Available hybrid

This internship provides a valuable opportunity to gain experience supporting WXPN's NPR-syndicated radio show, World Cafe, through a broad range of tasks.


WXPN Work Study Jobs

UPenn students with a Federal Work Study grant can go to the Student Employment Office to search for available Work Study jobs at WXPN and type in the Keyword: WXPN. Because of WXPN's affiliation with the University of Pennsylvania, we only work with Penn Work Study Students. If you are a Work Study Student from another school, you are welcome to apply for our unpaid internships.
