21st ANNUAL WXPN SUMMER MUSIC FESTIVAL
More than 400 artists have performed in the 20 consecutive summer music festivals that WXPN has presented in parks located on both sides of the Delaware River. The inaugural event that took place in 1994 at Penn’s Landing on the Philadelphia waterfront was called WXPN Singer-Songwriter Weekend, and featured 10 artists including Sarah McLachlan, Shawn Colvin and T-Bone Burnett.
Starting in 2004, the Singer-Songwriter Weekend expanded to three days. It was re-named the All About the Music Festival the following year, when its location was moved to Wiggins Park on the Camden, NJ waterfront. The name was changed to XPoNential Music Festival in 2007.
In 2012, thanks to a new partnership with promoter LiveNation, WXPN expanded the Festival to include two nights of live music at the Susquehanna Bank Center, which is conveniently located adjacent to Wiggins Park. Festival attendees can easily walk from the daytime concerts at Wiggins Park to enjoy evening concerts at the Susquehanna Bank Center which this year will feature RYAN ADAMS, JENNY LEWIS and DAWES (on Saturday, July 26) and BECK, BAND OF HORSES and THE DISTRICTS (on Sunday, July 27).
