Craig Finn And The Hold Steady: Music From Their 10 Year History
The Hold Steady describes themselves as "a bunch of dudes who rock the hell out of Brooklyn, as well as the rest of the world," and if "the rest of the world" includes this year's XPoNential Stage, then they couldn't be more right. Known for their classic rock influences and narrative-based songs, this indie XPN favorite is coming back again to Wiggins Park after releasing their acclaimed sixth studio album, Teeth Dreams, this past March.

Anthemic rockers The Hold Steady ready the release of their fifth studio album entitled Heaven Is Whenever. Animated keyboardist, Franz Nicolay, has parted ways with the group leaving the dynamics a bit altered, but nonetheless The Hold Steady’s classic brand of fist pumping rock ensues.

The much beloved Hold Steady's fourth studio album – Stay Positiveis (I guess) a bit more on the "positive" side lyrically, while maintaining that weird combination of Springsteen-esque drama and Replacements' racket musically. Their fans are gonna love it, but will they reach the elusive masses with this one?

Already considered by many rock critics to be one of the finest offerings of '06, Boys & Girls In America is a great album on a number of different levels. The intensity, hooks and words of The Hold Stady's latest are quite remarkable, and the album's charm grows with each listen.
