WXPN Video Roundup: The series begins with Brittany Ann Tranbaugh, Sarah Jarosz, Carla Gamble, and more

Just like there’s audio archives for programming you miss on the air, there’s also video archives capturing live performances you couldn’t attend in person (or wish to re-live). WXPN’s YouTube is the place to see live Free At Noon performances, in-studio sessions, and sets from past XPoNential Festivals and NON-COMMs. And of course, there’s some bonus content as well, like video footage of artists playing live on air for shows like the WXPN Folk Show and Middays with Mike V, not to mention special introductory stories on the Black Opry Residents, and other visual storytelling. Long story short: if you enjoy our on-air and event programming, there’s so much more to discover in our video content archives. And this new series, WXPN’s Video Roundup, will show you where to start each week.

Brittany Ann Tranbaugh plays “Bushwick” on WXPN

For the first time ever, Mike Vasilikos invited his Local Pick of the Day to perform the chosen song live and on-air. On top of that, the song was released the same day. Local folk songwriter Brittany Ann Tranbaugh beautifully performed her single “Bushwick” with band-member Joe Plowman on upright bass.

Sarah Jarosz on World Cafe (Full Interview & Performance)

We love this combined interview and performance with Sarah Jarosz for World Cafe. If you’ve ever listened to this format on the air and wondered what it would look like…well, it looks like this. Watch Jarosz talk about the inspiration behind her latest record Polaroid Lovers, accompanied by her live Free At Noon performance of course, at the link below.

Carla Gamble: Full Set (The Key Studio Sessions)

Get to know local soul, R&B singer and bandleader Carla Gamble in her excellent Key Studio Session from January before seeing her on the Camden Waterfront this September for, you guessed it, XPoNential Fest ’24. The self-proclaimed “vibe specialist” and her band are experts in their field; this one will knock you out.

Free at Noon: Snacktime (03.01.24)

We know you’ll enjoy this performance of Snacktime, one of our local favorites, at Free At Noon in March. The band was fresh off a tour with Portugal. The Man, and was enthusiastically welcomed home by our audience. It’s an electric set to re-live, and you can watch all 58 minutes of it below.

Lastly, we invite you to check out Adrianne Lenker’s performance of “Real House,” the opening track of her latest album Bright Future, recorded live at Electric Lady Studios in New York City.
