Brain Candle takes the stage. Philadelphia hardcore heroes. They tear it up. There are 20 people in the joint. Those are the luckiest 20 people in the world at that time.

Shredding guitars and throat tearing vocals. Devil horns to you gents. I bought your album.

American Sharks step up next. This is what I needed. Streamlined speed stoner rock.

I want sludgy guitars and fuzzy vocals that aren’t interested in taking 20 minutes to tell a story. So these guys come in and hit hard and fast.

They used to have big, long hair. They don’t now. It’s short. They still rock basslines so rugged, and vocals so gruff, that to stand too close to the speakers spells anIndiana Jones style of doom.

They played my favorite song of theirs, “Just As The Day Was Dawning.” Thank you.
