“We hope no kids ever have to deal with the issue of abuse, but reality tells us that a small number of adults take advantage of the trust of kids to hurt them,” said O’Connell. “The more we all know about the abuse of kids, the more we can all work together to make it stop. I hope families, teachers and anyone who cares about the well-being of our children tune in to hear how we can all do our jobs of keeping kids safe.”
Thomasey will share information about recognizing different forms of abuse including sexual, physical, emotional and neglect and will discuss appropriate steps that kids and adults should take when abuse is happening or suspected.
The special airs on Monday, November 21 from 7 – 8 p.m. on WXPN-FM. A recording of the interview will also be made available on the Kids Corner website.
