No-No Boy joins host Raina Douris

Julian Saporiti may have grown up in Nashville, but it took decades for him to be able to write the kind of folk music you find on his latest album as No-No Boy. On the next World Cafe, he talks about drawing from his own family’s difficult past–his mother left Vietnam in 1968 after his grandfather was killed in the Tet Offensive–as well as other immigrant stories to create a moving, very personal history lesson.
