Kaia Kater joins host Stephen Kallao

There was a point early in her career when Kaia Kater felt constrained by the banjo and the history attached to her instrument. But, her whole perspective changed after Kater saw the Carolina Chocolate Drops perform. On the World Cafe, the Canadian musician explains why she thinks the banjo is an innovative instrument, plus she talks about some of the stories behind her new album, Strange Medicine.
