Sense of Place Japan: Shonen Knife joins host Raina Douris

Shonen Knife celebrated their 40th anniversary last year and released a new album Our Best Place. On the this edition of Sense of Place: Japan on World Cafe, band leader Naoko Yamano talks about the band’s history – being inspired by the Ramones and Buzzcocks, the group’s first trip to the USA, touring with Nirvana – and the present day – what keeps her writing after 4 decades and why she wants to have positive songs.
