Amythyst Kiah joins Nashville correspondent Jessie Scott

Amythyst Kiah wrote the song “Black Myself” back in 2019 when she was in the band Our Native Daughters with Rhiannon Giddens, Leyla McCalla, and Allison Russell. Recently, Amythyst decided to return to that powerful track for her new solo album Wary + Strange. She joins Nashville correspondent Jessie Scott to discuss why the song stuck with her for so long, and how learning about old music and the banjo completely changed the trajectory of her career. All that, plus Amythyst Kiah performs a set of her new music, live. On the next World Cafe.
