Devendra Banhart joins host Stephen Kallao

Devendra Banhart’s new album was inspired by a famous haiku from Japanese poet Kobayashi Issa. The simple yet powerful poem explores the impermanence of life, a theme Banhart was drawn to during the creation of his latest record, Flying Wig. Produced by Cate Le Bon, the album is a hazy, synth-laden study in hope and healing. Banhart joins us on the next World Cafe to talk about making the album, plus he performs live.
