Foy Vance

Irish Singer Foy Vance Finds Inspiration In A Move To The Scottish Highlands

Irish singer songwriter Foy Vance is originally from Belfast, Northern Ireland. When he was a kid he travelled the Southern U.S. with his preacher father.
He tells us today how that (very) youthful experience and his father’s death helped inspire his writing. His new album in the States Joy of Nothing is inspired by moving to the isolation of the Scottish highlands. The time he spent touring with British pop sensation Ed Sheeran and Bonnie Raitt also proved important. Bonnie’s special relationship with her audience inspired the song “You and I” which Foy plays live today.
