WXPN is seeking an Editorial & Digital Content Intern with a passion for music, a background in writing, and a working knowledge of social media to contribute to the XPN.org Music News section dedicated to the Philadelphia music scene. They will write short-form posts covering new music, concert recaps, record reviews, news updates, and more. Additional opportunities include shooting and editing photos, video production for social media posts, and more.
Duties:
Contribute to the WXPN music blog including show previews, concert reviews, record reviews, news updates, and more. Assist video and photo team
Qualifications:
Candidates should have a familiarity with the Philadelphia music community and a robust knowledge of current music in general, specifically the music played by WXPN. The ability to monitor trends both locally and nationally and pitch coverage relevant to our audience – both short form as well as long-form – is essential. Qualified candidates will have a background in music and music journalism (editing experience is a plus), must be conversant with the music blogosphere for information-gathering, and must have a working knowledge in online publication platforms (specifically WordPress).

In addition to your resume and application form, please submit three writing samples that showcase your voice in music journalism. This is an unpaid intern position.
