The podcasters and promoters behind Your Next Favorite Band have organized an event called Listen to the Dissonance: A Powerful Celebration of Music and Mental Health Awareness. The event, which features performers Brittany Ann Tranbaugh, Brian Walker (A Day Without Love), Cass Noelle, and Jon Worthy, will focus on raising awareness of mental health struggles and the healing power of music.

All of the featured artists brought up the topic of mental health in their interviews with host Phillip Reese on Your Next Favorite Band. The proliferation of the subject is what made Reese start Listen to the Dissonance. “It just struck me, and I was like, ‘wow.’ If [mental health] means that much to people, maybe there should be a whole show that embraces that directly,” says Reese in the Instagram clip below, with support from the event’s contributing artists.

Listen to the Dissonance is happening at Bethlehem’s The Icehouse on February 28th, and Wayne’s 118 North on March 1st. Tickets are available now at the WXPN Concerts and Events page.
