The National Rifle releases newish video for “In The Weeds,” drunkenly blurts answers to trivia question
The friendly folks The National Rifle dropped us a line this morning to let us know that they’ve got a new video for “In The Weeds,” the opening track off the Vanity Press EP the band released earlier this year. (Sure, the “new” video has been up on the band’s website for more than two weeks now, but we’re pretty sure nobody on the Internet really cares about timeliness.) On the website, the band asked, “Can you name the bands we’re imitating? Tell us the four bands (if you think you got it figured out) on our facebook.” But it looks like the trivia contest was short lived: After one fan guessed “velvet underground, the clash, joy division and the beach boys?,” the keyboardist admitted, “I think I drunkenly told you those answers at [Kung Fu Necktie].” Whoops. (It’s OK, we’ve all been there.) The National Rifle performs with Cheers Elephant and The New Connection at 9 p.m. Saturday, November 13, at Johnny Brenda’s; tickets to the 21+ show are $10.
