Stream a new song by Eric Slick, “The Dirge”
For Eric Slick, drummer for Dr. Dog and partners in punk rock crime with Dominic Angelella in Lithuania, the hits keep coming. Slick has released a new song “The Dirge,” following up another new song, “No,” that he released in early August.
“The Dirge,” from Slick’s forthcoming solo album, Palisades, is anything but. While it’s got a slurry, elegaic pacing ala “Feels Like We Only Go Backwards” by Tame Impala, John Lennon’s “Mother,” and Harry Nilsson’s and Lennon’s cover of “Many Rivers To Cross,” it shows off Slick’s melodic charms, a big drum sound, and a warm, repetitive chorus.
Credits on the song, go like this:
drums, vocals: eric slick
bass: dailey toliver
guitar: ryan neitznick
guitar, farfisa: dominic angelella
mellotron, ideas: jose diaz rohena
recorded by jose diaz and nich wilbur at the unknown, anacortes, wa
