Travis touring for the 20th anniversary of ‘The Invisible Band,’ playing The Keswick in 2022
Age may be just a number, but Travis is determined to make the 20 year anniversary of their 9x certified Platinum album, The Invisible Band, one to remember. The Scottish rockers plan to celebrate the momentous occasion with a box set reissue of the album that includes a remastered version of the album by Emily Lazar, the original B-sides, and a few unreleased demos, live sessions, and alternative takes. The deluxe edition will be out December 3 via Craft Recordings.
To further add to the excitement, the band dropped “Swing,” a previously unreleased version of their single “Sing,” which was a UK top 3 single. They have also announced The Invisible Band in Concert tour, which they will embark on in the spring of 2022. It will take them across North America and the United Kingdom, and will be the first time that the album has been played in full. They will make a stop in Philadelphia on April 22 to play Keswick Theater.
“We cannot wait to get out there and play the album live,’” lead singer Fran Healy said in a press release. “I was asked the other day what the gig would be like. I said ‘Imagine taking your album out and placing it on the turntable and suddenly all the lights go out and the wall of your living room opens up, and there is Travis, playing it live, for you, with beautiful lights and stories and then once we play the album we throw in a bunch of hits. Then the wall closes and you think damn, I burnt my dinner.”
Tickets for the US dates go on sale Friday, October 8 and can be purchased here. You can preorder the 20th Anniversary box set here.
