The lineup for your 2022 XPoNential Music Festival is here!

The weekend kicks off on the Camden Waterfront with the remarkable Friday night doubleheader of Philadelphia-rooted space rockers The War on Drugs making their fourth XPNFest appearance and sharing the Waterfront Music Pavilion stage with punk poet laureate and rock and roll icon Patti Smith — who last appeared at a WXPN festival in 2000 when she headlined Singer-Songwriter Weekend at Penn’s Landing. On Saturday, it’s a roots-centric bill with Nathaniel Rateliff playing the pavilion alongside The Revivalists.

Over at Wiggins Park, it’s three days of returning favorites like singer-songwriters Jenny Lewis and Kathleen Edwards, roots combo The Felice Brothers, and soul force of nature The Suffers; up-and-coming names like acclaimed indie rocker Bartees Strange, recent WXPN Artist to Watch Sarah Shook and the Disarmers, and blues ripper Samantha Fish; a robust roundup of local talent including ska revival torch-bearers Catbite, dreamy Americana orchestra Cosmic Guilt, indie pop outfit Highnoon, and expansive funk / R&B jammers Omar’s Hat; plus at least one living legend in blues guitar icon Taj Mahal.

The 2022 XPoNential Music Festival takes place September 16th, 17th and 18th, and passes go on sale this Friday; details and more information can be found at the festival website, XPNFest.org. Get the full lineup and listen to music from some of the headliners below.
