Happy International Women’s Day! We’re celebrating women in music all day long on WXPN, with a full day hosted by the women of our airstaff, and special features all day, beginning with Kristen Kurtis at 6 and Wendy Rollins at 10. Every hour from 6 a.m. through 2 p.m., and then from 6 p.m. through 10 p.m., we’ll share WXPN-recorded live sets at the top of every hour. On World Cafe at 2, Raina Douris chats with Bonnie Raitt and celebrates great women of guitar. It’s a special treat at 4, with Philly radio legend Dyana Williams guest hosting two hours of her all-time favorite women. And the show continues with Kathy O’Connell and Deb D’Allessandro. 3 p.m. – A celebration of women and non-binary shredders, from Sister Rosetta Tharpe to St. Vincent.

XPN Afternoons with Dyana Williams

4 to 6 p.m. – A special Guest DJ set for International Women’s Day from WDAS and WHUR legend, Dyana Williams! She’ll play some of her all-time favorite women in music, with a special focus on Philly women in music.

6 to 8 p.m. – Channeling the Highs In The 70s spirit, Kathy will celebrate SNL and the 70s NYC music scene, as well as showtunes, women best known for TV work, and more.
